Money for Nothin' and Your Gas for Free: Funny Friday

Today’s post is this month’s Funny Friday, a regular feature published on the last Friday of every month. Funny Friday is a collaborative project. Each month one of the participants submits a picture, then we all write 5 captions or thoughts inspired by that month’s picture. Links to the other bloggers’ posts are below, click on them and see what they’ve come up with. I hope we bring a smile to your face as you start your weekend.

1. Woman to herself: Wow, I must have gotten a lucky pump, it's not charging me. Gotta love free gas, and not the kind Hubs "shares" at home either.

2. Woman (to her husband in the car): I can't see the numbers move, I think I may need new glasses.

3. Husband (sitting in the car, speaking to himself under his breath): You don't need to come with me to get gas, she said. You showed me how to pump my own, it's not that hard, she said. And people wonder why I'm the one who cooks dinner.

4. Woman to her husband in the car: This one's broken.
Husband: Duhhhhh!

5) Kid (in the car): Mom!
Woman pumping gas: Just a minute honey, I'm pumping gas.
Kid: But Mom!
Woman pumping gas: You're going to have to wait a minute.
Kid: But Moooooommmmm!
Woman pumping gas: I've told you three times to wait a minute, one more word and you're going to be punished.
Kid (texting his dad): Help. If you ever want to see me again, come to the gas station.

 And now for something yummy:

Sweet Hot Blackberry Chicken Roll Ups

4 (8 inch) tortillas
4 pieces of lettuce
1 1/4 cups cooked chicken
1/3 cup fresh blackberries, quartered
1/2 carrot, shredded
4 slices red pepper, chopped
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 TBSP sweet hot mustard

*Lay the tortillas out on the counter. Place a piece of lettuce on each.
*Slice the chicken. Turn each slice on its side and slice into "matchsticks". Place in a bowl.
*Add the quartered blackberries, shredded carrot and chopped red pepper to the bowl.
*Whisk together the mayonnaise and the sweet hot mustard. Add to the bowl and mix.
*Divide the chicken mixture evenly onto the centers of the tortillas. Fold the sides in slightly, then roll up. Slice and serve.

  1. These wraps are right up my alley and I have a pint of fresh blackberries I just bought! YUM
    Number 5 was my favorite.

I had to laugh and then snap the picture. Poor thing, no idea how long she stood there.

    1. I can't even imagine someone actually did this, but I'm so glad you thought to snap the pic.

  2. LOLOLOL the kid trying to tell her and him texting dad. That would so me be and the little dude.

  3. WOW! What a great-looking recipe. Never would have thought about putting those ingredients together.

  4. Love these but the last one is my favorite. The chicken roll ups look yummy!

    1. So glad you got a laugh or two. Last one is my favorite too.

  5. The recipe was definitely...different? But I loved those takes on the woman at the gas pump, especially the last one. Precious!

  6. Oh, my word! Wish I could have been a ‘Fly on the Wall’ and seen how long she stood there! Bwahahaha!

  7. Those are hilarious but that WRAP! Absolutely yum!

  8. That tortilla recipe has got my mouth watering. Yum!
