Let Sleeping Dogs Lie: Funny Friday

Today’s post is this month’s Funny Friday, a regular feature published on the last Friday of every month. Funny Friday is a collaborative project. Each month one of the participants submits a picture, then we all write 5 captions or thoughts inspired by that month’s picture. Links to the other bloggers’ posts are below, click on them and see what they’ve come up with. I hope we bring a smile to your face as you start your weekend.

Ingredients:
3 oz cream cheese, room temperature
1/2 tsp ground cumin
2 TBSP pepper jelly
1 crescent dough sheet (can substitute naan or a puff pastry sheet)
1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/4 cup pepperoncini slices
2 TBSP bacon bits

Directions:
*Lightly grease a baking sheet. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
*Whisk together the softened cream cheese, cumin and the pepper jelly. Set aside.
*Unroll the crescent sheet onto the center of the baking sheet. Roll about 1 inch of all of the sides in to create a border.
*Gently spread the cream cheese and jelly mixture onto the crescent sheet, excluding the border.
*Sprinkle on the cheese, followed by the pepperoncini and finally the bacon bits.
*Bake for 15 minutes. Slice and serve.

  3. That looks like a good superbowl treat! Yum! Also, your number three quote hits too close to home! The older two are convinced they've been replaced by the two puppers. <3

  4. Pepper jelly and cheddar cheese and cream cheese. (Insert stomach growl here). This has "Super Bowl" written all over it. I think the pepper jelly makes it! Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

And I have to admit: I had to google pepperoncini. I'm a little smarter now than I was a moment ago...
