Throw a Pot: Funny Friday

Today’s post is this month’s Funny Friday, a regular feature published on the last Friday of every month. Funny Friday is a collaborative project. Each month one of the participants submits a picture, then we all write 5 captions or thoughts inspired by that month’s picture. Links to the other bloggers’ posts are below, click on them and see what they’ve come up with. I hope we bring a smile to your face as you start your weekend.

Funny Friday:a multi-blogger challenge: one picture, five captions, | developed and run by www.BakingInATornado.com | #MyGraphics

Here's today's picture. It was submitted by Dawn of Spatulas on Parade.

1. Elmer Fudd: Wascally wabbit . . .
PS: If you're too young to understand this one, google it.

2. Wife: I tried that new dog food. Put just a little in the bowl on the deck.
Husband: How did it go?
Wife: I think he objects to the change.
Husband (thinking he's quite clever): How do you know, did he tell you?
Wife: Yeah, he did.
Husband (confused): He did?
Wife: Yes. Go look at the bowl I used out on the deck.

3. Husband: I did it.
Wife: Did what?
Husband: You asked if I wanted to go throw a clay pot. I did.
Wife (rolling her eyes): I was asking if you wanted to go to the potter and make a pot. It's called "throwing a pot".
Husband: Well, the good news is, now we actually need one.

4. Wife (stepping out on the back porch and shaking her head): "I don't need to move it from the railing," he said. "It's safe here", he said. "Well you can clean it up" I say.

5. Wife: I don't think the birds liked that clay bird bath I bought them. Maybe they prefer a shower.

Ingredients:
1 TBSP butter
12 oz large shrimp, shelled and deveined
1/2 tsp taco seasoning
4 oz can small shrimp, well drained
1 clove garlic, minced
4 oz mushrooms, cleaned and sliced
1 1/2 cups white rice
1 cup chopped pepper jack cheese
10 8-inch soft tortillas
1/3 cup water

OPT: pico de gallo and/or guacamole for serving

Directions:
*Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 10 X 15 baking dish.
*Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the large shrimp and sprinkle with the taco seasoning.
*Cook for 2 - 3 minutes. Turn the shrimp over and continue cooking until the shrimp is pink, completely cooked. Remove to a large bowl. Add the small shrimp.
*To the same skillet, add the garlic and mushrooms. Cook and stir until the mushrooms are soft. Add to the bowl with the shrimp.
*Cook the rice. Add the hot rice and the pepper jack cheese to the bowl with the shrimp. Mix well. Divide this mixture evenly into the center of the tortillas. Roll the tortilla around the center and place into the prepared baking dish.
*Pour the water around the tortillas so it drips to the bottom of the baking dish. Cover tightly and bake for 35 to 45 minutes, until hot.
*OPT: Serve with pico de gallo (my recipe HERE) and/or guacamole.

  2. Ha ha, "I think he doesn't like the dog food." I like these picture inspired stories-reminds me of Improv. Recently when I went to an improv experience, an actor had to use noise cancelling headphones and was later forced to guess a crime he was involved in-Very memorable.

    1. I've only been to one improv performance and I have to admit I was in awe of the creativity.
